MURAL ON THE BACK OF ANDREWS HOUSE

The mural is part of “Art for Everybody: The Delaware Mural Project,” supported by the OAC, Delaware County commissioners, City of Delaware, OWU Ross Art Museum, and private donors. In the Spring 2019, Californiabased artist Brett Cook created the mural following workshops held in which the public was invited to share their definitions of community. From information gathered in these workshops, Cook designed the mural depicting local residents and quotes from workshops participants words in this mural. There is also a second mural Cook created from the
wealth of material accumulated in these workshops at the Second Ward Community Center, 54 Ross Street. Andrew’s House Executive Director, Mel Corroto, reflected, “The artwork has inspired conversations about community with people coming to the Andrew’s House and in the
neighborhood.” The murals were installed in Sept. 2019.
