Private Art: Ages: 5+ |
A former art teacher with the Delaware City Schools, Terry was the lead instructor of The Arts Castle's Homeschool Art program for more than ten years. She enjoys working with homeschooled children and children with special needs. She is open to instructing art in many different media and to students of school age through young adult on week days.
Private Art: Ages: 5+ | Liz DeBellis Hughes
A licensed teacher in K-12 art, Liz has been teaching in a variety of settings for the past 7 years, and completed her MA in Art last year from Kent State. An accomplished textile artist specializing in quilting, weaving, embroidery, and dyeing, Liz also teaches drawing, painting (acrylics, oils, and watercolors), and mixed media. Liz is available to teach weekends.
Private Art: Ages: 14+ | Pat Getha
A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Pat has an Associate Degree in graphic design. She worked in the field for 20+ years doing layout, design and pre-press work for several printing companies. Pat took up painting and drawing professionally in 1999, specializing in wildlife art and photography, in which she is nationally recognized. Students may work in multiple mediums including Oil, Acrylic, Pencil, Colored Pencil and Photography. Students will learn the foundations of good design including composition and the utilization of line, shape, and value which is key to creating striking work that commands attention.

Ike graduated from BGSU where he studied Art Education with a major in Drawing and Ceramics (pottery). Ike uses his knowledge and experience
as a 7-12th grade Art Instructor at Ridgedale Schools in northern Marion county. He also taught K-6th grade for 5+ years. His art expertise and
interests are in Drawing (pencil, ink, pastels), portraits, landscape, and cartooning; hand-built and wheel thrown (functional) pottery; and glass
art (solid and blown).

Lisa O’Kelly Nye
A graduate of Ashland University and the Cleveland Institute of Art with a MEd and BFA respectively, Lisa currently teaches art at Delaware Hayes High School. She specializes in teaching students the importance, impact, thought processes, and skills involved in creative expression. Lisa has specialized education and experience in illustration, murals, computer graphics, and multimedia. She is generally available after school during the week.
Private ceramics: Ages: 5+ |
A graduate from the Columbus College of Art & Design with a BFA and post graduate course work/teaching licensure from Otterbein University, Rhainy currently teaches at Olentangy High School. In addition to teaching high school students, she facilitates several ceramic courses, workshops and camps for all age groups at The Arts Castle. Custom curriculum is preferred to maximize student growth.
Private loom weaving: Ages: 18+ |
Weaving has been a part of Mary's life for more than 40 years. Her goal is to promote and preserve the art and craft of weaving. She has a Bachelors and Masters degree in Fine Arts with an emphasis in weaving. In addition, Mary has taken numerous workshops and owned a weaving supply shop for 15 years.
PRIVATE MUSIC BIOS | $84/4 lessons
Guitar: Ages: 10+ | Bob Claymier
Bob has played guitar for over 50 years and currently plays in two local groups, 3 of a Kind and Museaic. Lessons are a half-hour each with flexible time arrangements. The first four lessons include holding, stringing, and tuning a guitar, introducing D, A and E chords, strum patterns and playing along to songs. Additional lessons would include major, minor and seventh chords, picking patterns, reading music, and playing scales for improvising. Acoustic or electric guitar. Participants will need their own guitar, but the instructor can help them find one.
Guitar, Piano & Violin: Ages: 4+ |
Ben has been playing piano since he was five years old. He majored in music at OSU, earning a degree in Composition while taking piano lessons concurrently from Professor Emeritus George Haddad and Professor Steven Glaser. Rather than focus on one area of piano music, he augmented his repertoire through extensive study of the Baroque through Modern periods. In addition, Ben has accompanied orchestra and band instruments, a youth choir, and even performed the first movement of Shostakovich’s Second Piano Concerto with his high school’s chamber orchestra. He started his exploration of electric guitar after extensive training in violin and piano, and uses a structured approach for teaching guitar. Ben can accommodate beginning students interested in learning the basics of acoustic or electric guitar and is qualified to teach all levels of piano.
Flute, Piano & Voice: Ages: 6+ |
Rebecca studied at Case Western Reserve University for her education degree, and then taught in the public schools for 7 years. After moving to Columbus, she entered The Ohio State University School of Music and Trinity Lutheran Seminary for a Master’s of the Arts in Church Music. Rebecca has been teaching almost 40 years. She believes a person is never too young or too old to learn. Rebecca studied flute with Diane Stalions and Heidi Ruby, was a Columbus Symphony Orchestra member, and has played in Master Classes at The University of Michigan, and in Toledo, Ohio. She has been teaching flute and voice lessons privately for 16 years. She studied music at Ohio State University as well as voice at Trinity Lutheran Seminary for Master’s of the Arts in Church Music. She uses information from the Alexander Technique to help students achieve ease in singing.
PLEASE NOTE: PRIVATE CLASSES (art, music and dance) are arranged with the instructor and are offered YEAR-ROUND as are Small Group and Girl Scout classes. TIMES AND DATES ARE ARRANGED WITH THE INSTRUCTORS AND DO NOT NECESSARILY RUN ACCORDING TO THE QUARTERLY TIMEFRAME.
